While many production processes have only advanced through more sophisticated means of automation, the performance criteria required from a component is constantly evolving. When a new project is first introduced to Black & Stevenson the client will normally furnish us with a set of initial criteria often based on an existing process or a broad idea of how the component has been re-designed to meet new criteria. Our extensive engineering experience helps us look beyond the immediate design production and manufacturing process to issues based on the predicted life cycle of a component, providing solutions to problems the client may not yet even be aware of, or demonstrating alternative scenarios based on cast versus process.

Our formula for success is based on a strong teamwork ethic. At the start of every new project our dedicated team of specialists representing the key disciplines involved in the design and manufacturing process assess the feasibility of a project.

This proves an invaluable exercise in developing design modifications or establishing the production process at the early stages, saving time and money.

The finished product is always a result of the effort and knowledge employed at the start. At the outset of a project we may undertake an initial feasibility report on our recommended approach. This report involves initial drawings and specifications providing information for both costings and production time scales.
